Maybe I'm missing something too. The car is sold without an engine or tranny so how can the manual recommend anything. Oil should be recommended by the builder of the engine, he's the one that knows what the internals are.

Well the manual shows the install of a Ford Racing 351w crate engine that calls for that oil weight. That is how it is written. Of course that is not how it's being applied here.

We run motors harder then anybody on this board....and in many different engine types....(Ford,Chevy, Indy car type)......

By the way....it has a ZDDP level in the 1800's ppm.....great oil especially when you only start them....run them .....then park them for a while....

Jay what oil do you guy's use at vintage for a 408 or 427 with rollers?
