New car..trunk issue

Car 1282 delivered today. Everything looks good and I am impressed with
The build quality. Only problem is the trunk won 't latch. Anyone
else have this problem? Trunk lock is not on,key in open position.
Thanks.

Yes. I have this problem with 997. The issue with mine is that the Hook and Latch don't line up properly.

I close the lid, keeping one hand on the handle and one hand on the license light fixture I slide the entire trunk to the left (drivers side). Turn the latch handle and presto-- the truck is now latched.

Once I lock it I am all set until the next time I need to get back there.

You can adjust the hook to overcome that.

What happened to the BRG #1368?

Found out last week that a Abu Dahbi blue/silver stripe car was just completed
on 7/18 with the Coyote motor I wanted. Frank in Boyton was able to add
the extra equipment I wanted. I had trouble waiting the five days it took to
deliver this car, never mind the two months for the green one.

In that case tell Frank your trunk won't latch.

I have emailed him to let him know. Return trip for him from my house is six hours. Obviously adjusting this myself is the way to go,

Since that response might take awhile... here's a little trick to figure out what you need to do. Set your iPhone or smartphone up inside the trunk with it recording video. May need to put a flashlight in there with it. Now close the trunk so the camera captures how off the pin is. Then you can watch the video and make a basic adjustment to it.

Very nice of you to make that suggestion...will do..

Thats a lot better than trying to fit in the trunk while someone closes the lid

Finally removed hooked latch from inside the trunk lid. As Frank predicted,
the hook on the latch was bent and not fully engaging. Mystery solved.
I have been privileged to have owned many new domestic and foreign sports
cars over the years (bless my wife) but this is special. More fun then a Viper,
more visceral then a Z06.
