Psi
I have a new Backdraft with 18" Falkins. The manual indicates a front
PSI of 28,with the rears being 29. A friend with an older car went for a ride with me today and drove it for a bit. He though the recommended settings were too high and suggested I lower it 3lbs all around. The car has a Coyote motor. Would you stick to the suggested settings or lower them for a smoother ride? Thanks. |
I have a new Backdraft Cobra (#1360) also and just completed my 500 mile servicing by a certified automotive technician as specified in the Backdraft Warranty. The technician has over 25 years experience with Cobras from most manufacturers with many years of Backdraft build and operating experience. I also have 18-inch Falkans on the front (245/40R18) and rear (295/40R18) on my Cobra. The technician set my front tires at 26 psi and my rear tires at 25 psi. The vehicle runs great, but I am strictly a street driver with a light foot.

I watched the dyno run last weekend and that thing really runs. It's amazing how much different the newer BDR's are from the "older". As far as tire pressure goes the rule of thumb, has always been 1 psi for every 100 lbs of weight. Most tires will heat up a few lbs and give you a good ride and good tire wear. Get too much pressure and the tires will wear out the middle so fast you won't believe it. Especially with all that HP.
