There are only 2 "solutions" for that. There is a company that contacted me about a year ago with a full sleeve for the sidepipes that cover exit of body to the ends.

Or you can do "street" roadster style and full exhaust under the car. We are waiting on the arrival shortly of the first BDR "street" roadster. While it is by no means a replica in the sense that ERA or Kirkham does it, it takes the BDR approach a goes at the street car flavor. It will have no roll bar, bumpers, undercar exhaust, flat hood, and a glovebox. First on in is black with red leather...

I ordered a product from "these pipes are hot". It's a thermal sleeve about 2 ft that has magnets so it will stick to pipes or to itself as you slid it over the pipe. Also has a warning of the pipes being hot on it, which I put on at a cruise in or when I know I can't see the car. Being one that has been snakebite, I couldn't risk my kids, or someone not familiar with these cars, burning their leg on accident. Here's a link and Bud was a great guy to deal with as well as a Cobra owner himself:

Just for your information, I wrapped each sidepipe at the muffler section with fiberglass exhaust manifold tape from Summit. Then I ordered and mounted a set of sidepipe covers from Finishline. Even after a spirited drive they are warm to the touch, even if you touch them with your leg the damage is minimal. I always tell my passengers to beware of Hot Pipes upon exiting.
