Backdraft Cobra wiring

Check out this picture...this is why a factory built car is the way to go! I had a turn signal out, so I had to isolate the circuit to find the problem. Look how easy these things are to work on! If you are on the fence about what brand of Cobra to look for, well info like this weighs in heavy!

I'm guessing that is an older one. But I agree!
The newer backdrafts are even nicer, including wiring at both terminations being labled. All wiring is inside nice mesh braid, most use nice connectors, and overall it's just a very clean wiring job. |
Good eye...it is number 91. I am guessing the later the build date the better...always forward and all. But the more I get into this car, the more I am impressed.

MY Back Draft is coming I cannot tell how many yards of Black electrical tape i had to cut off to get to my problem from my previous car.

I have a Back Draft cobra and I agree they are pretty nice to work on and the parts people are great about helping you out with questions.

To me, that is why these forums are around...owners helping owners and prospective owners getting the unvarnished truth about the cars. Helps them make the right choice for them. Agreed about the help...lots of help here. I would like to see the Backdraft Section get more active frankly. Post more everybody. Road trips, tech tips, whatever...part of the fun of owning a special car is all your friends that understand; real or cyber.

My car has a wiring harness that was built on a Friday afternoon... lot's of loose connectors and I'm fighting 2 shorts that are up behind the dash. The challenge here is not the wiring itself but the limited space in the cockpit to troubleshoot it. The wiring schematic isn't much help but as has been noted, the wires themselves are labeled and that helps a lot.
I wish the fusebox in the newer cars looked like the image from #91. Now everything is compact and in order to get to the connections you have to remove the fusebox. |

Millerspeed but he is in Redondo Beach and I live in the Bay Area... dropping the car off for a warranty issue isn't an easy task.

I sure wish my car's wiring harness looked like yours. Looks like mine was done on a Monday after a weekend of drinking. I plan to correct those issues this winter when I remove the dash and wire it as it should be.
