This stuff actually works !!!!
As soon as i brought my BDR home i noticed a few spots of oil on my garage floor. Upon closer inspection after getting under the car i noticed the TKO 600 was leaking as was my steering rack, and finally the differential. In short everything that could possibly leak was leaking the the exception of the radiator. After doing some research i bought a few bottles of ATP leak stops and some Lucas leak stop fluid for the steering rack not thinking it would really help, but then again worth the shot for 30 bucks worth of magical stop leak fluids. I am glad to report that after 3 days and about 150 miles of driving all leaks have stopped. This stuff really works. Needless to say i was shocked, and still am really. For those of you that have some small leaks this stuff may be worth a shot before delving in to costly repairs. I thought it was snake oil all along, turns out I was wrong. Where is/was it leaking on your TKO600?
I would be REALLY pissed if it was anyplace other than the drain plug. (Wrap the drain plug with the yellow Teflon tape. Might have to try ATP leak stops on my snow blower though. :-) |
I saw this post and felt I should respond.
My TKO600 leaked for a while. The stop leak held it up for about 1 season change and it was back. My fix was a teardown and reseal. The expert who worked on it said the TKO uses a chemical gasket and they all leak after some time. He noted the seal agent I used left a film on the inside that he had to scrub off. So, it might not be seeping red right now, but I believe it will start again. You might want to have the tranny gone over in the off season while you look at the clutch and other drive-train items. I'd be rather pissed to bring home a new car and have it start leaking right away. |
