What tools do you carry in your trunk?
Interested in hearing from those who have driven their cars a lot and added tools to the trunk in anticipation of roadside fixes.
Currently I only have fluids, fuses, screwdrivers, wrench and deep socket set. What do you carry in your trunk? |

The things that I carry most consistently are a jack, fix a flat, an air compressor that runs off of the car battery and plugs/glue tools to fix a puncture. A flat tire should be your biggest worry. If you have to carry a bunch of tools and spare parts to fix assorted mechanical issues then something is wrong with your car. So far, no need for anything. It probably would not hurt to carry some spare fuses, as those can go. I also carry the lead hammer, anti-seize and safety wire in case there is a need to replace a tire. I do not expect that AAA all show up with a lead hammer in the truck.

I had to replace an alternator on the side of the road. Tire issue where I needed to remove the tire.

I will say, there seems to be a need to help the fellow CObra. I haven't had trip one that I didn't have to fix something. Even if it was a fuse or someone elses car. So, I carry a small tool box with the quick fix, "get me off the road" tools. Tru |
What has been already mentioned above. I also carry a battery operated single wire timing light, Loktite, and a carb float adjusting tool. Depending on how far I plan to go out I may add other things to my "go bag". Don't forget sunscreen, some first-aid essentials and of course a fire extinguisher!;)

I have never had a problem with them. I would recommend getting the Premier Membership as it includes long distance towing over 100 miles. I had mine flat bedded and taken all the way from LA area to San Diego area to have some work done. No problem.

I'm probably jinxing myself, but I have never needed any roadside tools, or parts, in over 22000 miles in the cobra. In addition to some of the items already mentioned, I keep a spare serpentine drive belt, a generic radiator hose (to cut to length as needed), and a roll of duct tape.

I have used my stuff way more helping others out, which is part of the deal!;)
