BDR Legroom
 
Hi, new to the forum. Contemplating a Backdraft purchase. I am 6'4". Have not sat in a Backdraft yet. Would I fit? Between the BDR and the Superformance, which one has the most spacious cabin? I know it is a can of worms I am opening here, but someone must have done the comparison already...

BDR has a wider body for more room between the driver in passenger which I like, can't say on the legroom.

I would prefer a wider foot box in the BDR.

A lot of it is not just height but proportion and weight. We have many customers your height and many more that are taller. We've also developed seat mods to make you not only fit but more comfortable.

Shoe size comes into play also, and you must wear narrow soles.

I'm sure you can fit in either, it's a matter of comfort from there.

Backdraft has a two inch longer wheelbase (92" vs 90"). That equates to a little more leg room. I am 6"2' and fit in the Backdraft OK. Although after about 90 minutes I have to get out and stretch. You really need to sit in both types.

It will depend if you're long legged or long torso. I have somewhat shorter legs for my height. But most likely the extra length of the BDR will work out. As I've stated many times before you should sit in the car you intend to purchase. Each of them are so different that you can't be certain. I tried on a Superformance and found that with the seat in a comfortable position for pedals the steering wheel was planted firmly in my lap.

Cashburn is also correct on shoes: The pedals are small and very close together. I got in the habit of just planting my big toe on the pedals and letting the rest of my foot be off to the side.

I'm 6-2 and 190 lbs....12 shoe size. I fit in both cars fine but was more comfortable in the BDR. I based my purchase on the best deal I could find and the BDR came up first. As for the 90" vs 92" wheelbase, BDR does an excellent job of hiding those extra 2" in my opinion. It's a really sharp car but BDR pushes more of a modern interpretation in the terms of looks in my opinion... I prefer more nostalgic 60s look which I think the SPF has. I just took my BDR and added accessories to make it look more 60s style..

The SPF MK III has three different tunnels available dependent upon what engine you intend to install. Most "in stock" chassis are ordered with the midsize tunnel which will allow most all of the engine families to be installed. You can get a "wide" tunnel intended for the Windsor series which gives more width but makes a Modular/Coyote install difficult.

Did have my first ride in a local Backdraft which is for sale, tonight. Awesome ride and I fit perfectly with room to spare. Pedals very close together, but I can get used to that... Passenger footwell very small, though.
