Posi Rear
I was thinking of upgrading to the Posi rear end, I don't track or race the car, but have trouble laying down the power on with only one wheel working.
Thoughts? Backdraft wants about $2,000 for the unit, any other less costly alternatives? Thank you. |

Thanks Tamanaco, great to know, as I wasn't sure if it would still cruise comfortable on a fast highway sped of around 75 (my usual hwy speed) with the 3.91. I assume the pickup is even better and with both tires hooking up, it really takes off.

I have been doing a lot of soul searching, but after putting some more local miles on the 3.46 open rear, I am confident that the car will be better for me with a 3.91 LSD (I have the .62 5th gear overdrive). It is almost impossible to drive slow with the 3.46, as the engine hates to be run under 2500 RPM (bucking, burbling, snorting, etc.), and when I bring the RPM"s up for some fun, the traction is very limited.

Check out these torque biasing diffs. Wavetrac makes them for BMW also and they are about half of the price you were looking at. No clutches all 9310 gearing and stunningly smooth through the corners. I have one for the 8.8" Ford and there is absolutely no POSI carrier that even comes close.
