Steering column heat shield needed?

Hi everyone,

Changing plugs on the BDR today and had a thought. My car has the heat shield to protect the brake master cylinder. I realized that the steering column is also very close to the headers. Has anyone had any heat related problems? I am wondering if I should try to wrap it or something.

I have 60k on my #209 and have had no issues. I do check the torque on the bolts and lube a couple times a year.

I had to do it on my car. Seems to have helped.

On 90 degree days the wheel would get "sticky". Not any more.

I made this for heat problems with brakes very easy on and off. i made this for backdraft cars not long after i got my car which is #84 . backdraft came up with a heat shield that works very well and they sale them on there website. and i would highly recommend one.
The only pattern i have is the one on my car.

I have that one. Yours is nicer and would protect my remote mounted clutch reservoir that is right above the steering column. I guess its time to get out the card board and scissors!
