Are you planning to install a film to protect that in future?

Good to know... thanks! I too am starting to add up a few dings that I need to do something with... all small... nothing that stands out until you start looking closely. I tried getting a paint code from BDR via e-mail... but didn't get a response. Curious about the coating too... keep us posted.

The ceramic coating is amazing stuff. I had it done on my E63 and it is guaranteed to last 2 years. It should, the cost was $1,500.

On interesting thing I learned about it is that it comes in a range of hardnesses and on cars with stiff suspensions it is not recommended to go more than a hardness of 8 or risk having the polish crack.

Ceramic coating is different than the clear film that protects your paint from chips. I have a 7 year ceramic coating on my car which gives the paint an unbelievable shine. It helps with bugs not sticking, beads water when it gets wet, but it does not help with paint chips. Think of it as a more durable coat of wax. The clear film does help protect against rock chips.
