Aluminum tank capacity

I have a backdraft built in 2015 with optional aluminum tank. Issues with fuel guage and trying to figure out the tanks capacity. I have been told 19 or 17 gallons.

Tank is not easy to measure, odd size. Hoping for a reply from cashburn.

18 gallons, thats what Jay told me mine was, it was built in 2016.

My gauge does not work either...correction. When it is full it is 3/4 on the gauge. Then you can drive forever, then suddenly the gauge drops. But since when the gauge drops I still have like five gallons, it is that point I start looking for a Hy Vee. (I am in Missouri and Premium Hy Vee gas does not contain any corn.)

My long suffering wife, a CPA is bothered by the fact my gas gauge is not accurate and my speedo only works sometimes. So I need to fix the gauge or the speedo. Either which is cheaper than a new wife.

Not necessarily your situation but sometimes a new wife is the happier path. Just sayin' ...

Pheagles - if you PM a sketch of your tank with dimensions to me I will calculate your tank volume.

Winchester67, same exact issue I have with my fuel guage. Did testing and guage is working and sending unit is putting out the correct home. Plan to pull tank down and check the float. Likely bent or sticking on well area in tank.

I have a Backdraft built in 2017/2018 with the stock plastic tank with 70 litres capacity as mentioned by the factory representative. The stock BDR fuel level gauge is also irregular and dips and drops as I accelerate and brake and cruise, so the correct fuel level is usually an average of the needle movement...

I have also learnt the hard way to never fill the tank to the brim right before parking the car in the garage. The fuel sometimes seeps out the top through the fuel-pump- and sender-unit gaskets a bit. Rather fill her up just before a drive.

Suggest you look at moellermarine.com for their non-swing arm marine sending units.
Working on a vertical shaft the gauge does not show the great movements of a shifting fuel level due to changing levels from cornering and braking etc. Make sure your gauge works with a 240-33 Ohm sender or you will have to replace the gauge. They come in lengths that are in one inch increments and as I remember you want one that is one inch from the bottom of your tank for the proper length.
