Spanner Wrench for shock adjustment
Can anyone tell me the size of the spanner wrench to adjust the shocks on a 2014 build? I need to purchase one. Thx

I have a set of Martin Adjustable spanners and I think the 2"-4 3/4" wrench will work. PN 474
https://www.amazon.com/Martin-474-Ca.../dp/B000FN4MG0 I don't use them as the load on the spanner nut and metal grinding with the spring loaded is a real detractor. (Probably not an issue, its just me). I usually have the car on jack stands. Remove the front wheels, Use a floor jack to lift the front suspension a few inches, install Motorcycle spring compressors (Small and fit the narrow shock frame tower well) Looks like these. https://www.amazon.com/Tusk-Shock-Sp...ing+compressor Lower the floor jack and the spring is loose. If the the adjustment runs up against the spanner nut/spring seat I've used a brass punch to get the last couple turns if needed. |

It's not just you. I tried 2 styles and stopped using them while the suspension is loaded; hard to turn, not much room, they're knuckle-busters. I also jack up the car and un-load the suspension, then use a flat-blade screwdriver and tap with a hammer to wake them up if necessary, then adjust by hand. Haven't used a spanner wrench for maybe 15 years. |
Thx. I try the jack and unload method to see if I can get the nut to move.
