High back seats
I do a lot of driving and want to put some high back seats. The selection seem limited because of my light tan interior. Just bought some really nice ones but they cant fit because of the hump inside the door. Any mfg suggestions?
Thanks

I wanted a light tan interior for my car. Deep red over tan is a killer combo. But I just couldn't find one ready made. I think if you look for a Lotus Exige seat, and plan to have it recovered, that will be your best bet.

Thanks Bob. I had my originals re-done, and many people say Miata. I don’t really like them. I’ll look at the Lotus. This is more of a challenge than I thought it would be.

I use the Kirkey Drag Buckets. They allow much more latitude in seat placement and I find them far more comfortable than the stock seats. Better if you back into the Armco too.

I am tweaking the Kirkey drag seat right now. A bend here and there to fit better. Very comfortable with pillow under the butt. Getting in and out is getting better with each bend I make. I gained approximately3 inchs in room. Go figure.

THis is a picture of CCX 3209 before the SUV and Cell phone incident. You can only see the tops of the seat, but these were seats from a Pantera if I recall correctly. They were mounted on adjustable rails and fit quite nicely.

In my FFR, I used a Kirkey road race set. I found it to be very comfortable, and a better fit than the Cobra Clubman's. I bought some memory foam from Spruce Aircraft to make it even more comfortable.

Dont know what your seats are made of, but this process might allow you to use the seats you have.
I cut out a sort of an oval shaped section of my seat to fit over the wheel tub "hump", and re-fiberglassed it. I'm 6'7" and that allowed me to move the seat back about 2". You literally dont notice it: you'd think you would feel what amounts to a big dimple sticking into your left side, but in my car that dimple hits right above hips/below ribs, so you dont notice it.
