Glad to be back in the backdraft family. I have 2 questions that I could use help on. Brand new car #2019..

1. I have extended fill unit for fluids and I wanted to see fluid levels. The caps are so tight that I couldn’t turn them by hand. Is there a trick to un loosen the caps?

2. I have some sort of intermittent noise at idle or driving coming from front of passenger side pipe. More than a rattle and it doesn’t seem anything is loose.

Those are CNC reservoirs and the caps are standard CCW to loosen.

You can place a hose clamp on the cap then tighten it down, then loosen it with Channel locks. The clamp will protect the cap from jaw marks.

On the side pipe, take a look at the aft muffler to frame rubber mount, they tear easily and also all the collector and header mounting hardware for security.

If its the mount rubber you can use these (Avail thru Rockauto, Summit, Autozone, etc for about $2.50)
I use a hose clamp around the rubber mount to reinforce it. Not snug but just enough to keep it in place and not interfere with the rubber mount's vibration absorbing.

Here's a good mod to keep the pipes from moving inward towards the body:

The previous owner of mine did a similar mod to keep them more rigid. These were really helpful back when the cars came with slip-fit side pipe connections instead of header flanges.

Congratulations on your new ride! I have build 151 and love it. The earlier year BDR had slip-on side pipes...no flange with bolts. I',m assuming that they have long since abandoned that method of joinery because of the constant rattling and gone to the flange style. Good luck with your car, it's a beauty.

Unfortunately these suggestion weren’t the culprit. Since backdraft is closed I made video to send to them to see what the noise maybe. It seems to me it is right where the 4 pipes go into 1 and right by the bolt foe what looks to be location where exhaust sensor will go.

Just shooting from the hip, but did you try to tighten all of the associated bolts? The ones holding the headers and side exhaust together, the sensor holes, etc?

Buy or borrow an endoscope. You can get them pretty cheaply for your cell phone. Pull the exhaust sensor plug, and look around in there. Who knows, maybe there's a fastener or a piece of scrap metal in there.

I had to add a stand-off to support the dipstick as it would vibrate at certain rpm. It was a visible thing not sound though in my case.

Also you may try taping down the hood support rod to remove it from the list.

I agree with Matt's suggestion to check the header and collector hardware.

On your photo there looks like a Cad plated item at the top of the passenger footbox?

On the photo I circled in Blue an area under the passenger fender, just aft of the louvers at the top of the foot box. The item looks to be Cadmium plated (gold in color) thus I didn't think it was reflection.

Have you checked the header bolts? make sure they all have nuts on them. And they are tight.
