Tie Rod & Tie Rod Ends

2 Attachment(s)
In case anyone is interested, I found that Moog EV239 tie rod works with my rack (car #272). It was +/- 5/16" shorter, but that worked better in my case.

Also, BECK/ARNLEY 1013519 worked for the curved tie rod end. Couldn't get the cotter key to pass through the hole, but could get safety wire through so used that.

Thanks for this. I am about to dig into the front suspension and firm some things up on this 2006 car. Did you find anything else that you replaced while you were in there?

Get the inner tie rod tool from harbor Freight for the inner tie rods:

You should consider the steering linkage upgrade that is here on the forum, only buy the stainless version of DD shaft (Borgeson 419422 - Stainless Steering Shaft - 3/4"-DD x 22" Long) (you'll only use around 13") and paint the couplers and vibration reducer before you install or they will rust. This, and the KYB KG5529 rear shocks, are the best (and cheapest) upgrades I've done so far.

I'm installing camber plates on #272, but found out that we need special camber plate nuts because the KYB 361005 threads are too shallow for the plates, so I'll have to wait until next week for that.

Thanks! Trying to figure out if we can just replace the tie rod ends or, we have to do the whole piece that you show?

Thanks! I think I will just go ahead and do all of it(rod and ends). You didn't need any other special tools, right?

No, only the inner tie rod tool and a torque wrench.

Today’s find: The rack and pinion boot for our rack is moog-k150272, Toyota Corolla 2003-2013
