Badging

Contemplating replacing the "Powered by Ford" badging on the side of the car with a 427 badge. I've seen some on Finish Line and other sites. Is there a good website everyone uses for that kind of thing? Don't want to end up with some rinky dink badge etc...

Yes there is. Billet Badges makes some real nice ones and they cost but again they are quality pieces.

Finish Line

Do a search and see the issues with Finish Line.....

spdbrake 07-31-2020 01:49 PM

Finish line has them for $19.00 each
https://www.finishlineaccessories.co...de-emblem.aspx

And Tony Branda has them for $38.00 each
427 FORD COBRA Side Emblem

There have been a few folks complaining about ship times from Finish Line, I've never had issues though. I just ordered seat tracks from them 5 min ago in fact.

Thanks, I've used finishline a couple of times before. Once it was quick delivery, the second time took a bit but the issue was addressed immediately. I spoke to the guy who runs the business and he was apologetic and helpful. Actually like the idea of supporting his business, keep as many Cobra resources going as possible!!

Finish Line. I use them all the time. Never a problem with delivery. As a matter of fact, just placed two orders with him and received inside of two weeks. One of them was for a 289 side emblem, "Powered by Ford", excellent quality.

I own an older Backdraft with mentioned badging that has threaded studs. Purchased Powered by Ford badging with the stick on tape. Peeled off tape and pressed on the existing badging. New badging is thin aluminum and it looks just fine. Actually, would say looks perfect.

I have new badges to put on. I recall seeing measurements for placement. Does anyone have that handy?

KDubU 08-06-2020 03:24 AM

Side badge location.

Thank you. But my badge is a stick on variety. Can anyone please measure the distance between the bottom of the badge to the top of opening? And also the left-right alignment somehow?

I ordered two of the 289 badges ("POWERED BY FORD") quite recently, and they turned up quickly as promised....and I'm in Australia.
I'd use them (Finishline) again.

Cheers.,
Glen

Circling back with pics, because without pics, it didn't happen, right? :D

I had to wait for the PPF to cure. Since my badges are stick on, the reference points in the ERA diagram don't totally work (no peg holes). But as best as I can tell, 1/2" above the vent openings and centered, looked about right. I also quickly realized that using a level wouldn't work because who knows if the car and/or garage are level. So instead I used 1/2" wide electrical tape to create a parallel line above the vent hole, marked center and in the end, eye-balled it!

In the garage it looks good. We'll see how it looks outside later.

Any luck yet? I really want to do the Powered by Ford one, but don't want to order if it is a pain to get from them.

I'm very happy with this one. It says it's an official Ford product on the back. Quality, heavy piece.

Mark IV 08-30-2020 11:10 AM
