Fuel pressure gage recommendations

Not having much luck with Auto Meter liquid filled fuel pressure gage (p/n 2172). On my second one over the course of one month. For some reason, the needle initially reads the correct pressure then after some use, drops to zero and isn't reading pressure.

This gage has a vent plug as do all other liquid filled gages. Do I need to vent the gage at operating temperature for the needle to read accurately?

Does anyone have another manufacturer that you can recommend- 0 to 15 PSI?

SB,

I found this after an internet search, so it must be true %/

You don't need the liquid filled for fuel press at the carb. The autometer fuel press gauges have had a lot of complaints on their life, or lack there of.

Any 0-15 will really do, Holley, Mr.Gasket, etc.. I just switched yesterday to a Russell Plumbing from a Rusting 2 year old Holley gauge. I got caught in a rain shower and thats all it took to start rusting.

Great write up! Explains everything. My Autometer gauge has a tab at the top to relieve pressure. I will pull it once the gauge has heated up and see if that fixes the reading.
