'Tab' on clutch pedal

There is a tab with a hole on the upper portion of the clutch pedal. I've been told that this is to accommodate some sort of bolt that acts as a 'stop' so as to limit the travel of the clutch pedal (i.e. a threaded bolt with nuts securing it to the tab and adjusted such that the bolt head hits the firewall and stops the pedal from traveling too far). Is this the case and secondly, do I need to add a bolt to serve this purpose?

Mine doesn't have that. But I really like a pedal stop for the clutch. If I had a clutch, I would weld on a stop somewhere.

My Backdraft RT4 was new a year ago, Coyote & Tremek TKO 500. The clutch pedal came with an adjustable long bolt ( with a front & back locknut on each side of the tab ) and after a few adjustments, I was able to get the clutch releasing better than when the car was delivered. Having said all that, the Tremec TKO 500 is a terrible shifting transmission. The Ultra Shift Synthetic trans fluid made a big difference, and the transmission is now marginally acceptable. Next on the list is the Liberty Gears upgrade to the trans to shift like it should. Hope that helps. Mark
