If that key worked in your gas cap unmodified, does that not imply the key is somewhat generic, therefore indicating anyone with a similar generic key could use it in your ignition? I hope you have another form of security, should you ever need to leave it unattended.

My original key opens the gas cap but does not turn the new ignition switch. I suspect a cap will open with any key that fits the slot but only a specifically cut key will turn the switch. A bigger issue is the exposed wires behind the switch that could not be easier to hot wire. Other safety measures are needed.

Anti theft and cobra are mutually exclusive. There probably isn't an easier car to hotwire. Remember it's a race car

I'm never to far away from her ,but if I am I always flip the electrical cutoff key and carry it with me . they will have to push or tow it away .
