Electric Fuel Pump Concern

I have a RT3 with a gen 1 Coyote engine. I always start it regularly to keep the motor in proper shape while it's not being driven. I ran it a week ago and all was fine. Today I went to start it and the electric fuel pump sounded weak and laboring. Car wouldn't start. Can this be caused by a low fuel level? My fuel gauge is reading low but never had a problem with running out of gas at its current reading. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Seems like adding 3-5 gallons of fresh
fuel and a restart would either answer
or eliminate one possible concern.

Also, what about battery health. You
say pump sounded weak and would
not start. Was starter cranking full speed?

Starter was full speed.

If extra fuel doesn't solve your problem consider an OBD2 scanner to get an amazing amount of runtime and troubleshooting info. Good luck.

If I am not going to drive for a while, I pour some Stabil in the fuel tank. Seems to keep it healthy longer.

I was talking with a local mechanic the other day. I mentioned my problem. He said if the pump wasn't picking up fuel it would spin faster and not slower. Is this true?

Faster, there is no pressure slowing it down.

Add some fuel already and let us know
