BDR #260 car engine swap 8.2 to 9.5W
Hi, I'm swapping a 8.2 deck with a 9.5W. it's all in and the headers are to high for the sidepipes flanges to match. Just a side note, these where originally slip joint header to sidepipe style and I changed over to flanges. Other Non-standard part is solid engine mount, purchased from BDR 2008'ish. These mount are 1.5 inches tall. Talking with Frank at Backdraft Racing he said that seem tall? Transfers me to the Parts Dept, get disconnected, call back, into VM.
So my F4TE block (9.5 deck) has BDR 1 1/2 inch high steel mounts attached, then a solid 2 1/2 diameter 1 1/2 tall aluminium puck, which is through bolted to the frame. My question is this height, engine mount and puck, the same between 8.2 deck and 9.5 deck. I did mock up some puck 0.9 inch shorter (height difference between blocks) and I looks like side pipes will fit. But sure looks like I need to lower my trans mount? I need help from the folks that have built these RT3 cars...Help Jay aka Cashburn |
