Boudy or Regg,

I am installing my drivetrain myself. I have only seen the very basic wiring instructions. I have Autometer gauges. Is it possible to get detailed wiring diagrams for my car. I am NOT using a MSD box. I have a Mallory Unilite distributor, a mechanical fuel pump, and a Edelbrock Carb.

What wiring harness is used in the Backdraft? Do they have any detailed diagrams?

As you can see, the basic wiring diagram I have seen does not apply to my set-up.

I know I won't be using the wires for the electric fuel pump, but there are others I can't figure out. There is a fuse for reverse gear lighting, is that the other wire harness in the rear?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I have only installed MSD boxes in everything I've ever built, raced, or sold.

Hi there,

The wiring harness in the car is custom made for us. They do have a few extra circuits installed for different applications. The newer spec cars have an extra circuit for backing-up lights which is necessary in some states.

If you are having a problem getting it hooked up for your particular application, give me a ring or drop me an e-mail explaning exactly what you are using and I should be able to guide you through it. Although the car is set up to use a MSD ignition it can be wied for anything. There are 4 wires in the car for this . You woll find a green,purple,orange and black on the eng harness which correspond to the MSD colors. You will also find the corresponding wires under the dash by the fuse box on a different loom. You could probably use the orange and black for the coil and possibly the green to supply the feed to the distributor. I am not sure what your application requires but it should be easy to figure it out.

This will probably be better to explain on the phone or on a detailed e-mail with all the facts.
