spark plug gap???
 
motorheads.....what should the spark gap be on a standard set of plugs for my motor...306 with hyper-pistons...standard compression...AFR 185 heads...burning 91-92 octane.

What ignition are you running (MSD, Jacobs,Mallory, etc)

What Rick said. I run a Jacobs Pro Street and my stock gap is .035. With the Jacobs, I have found that a .047/.049 works best. I think the MSDs are about the same but am not sure.

MSD states the following using their 6 series
Compression up to 10.5:1: - .050 to .060
10.5:1: to 13.0:1 - .040 to .050
Above 13.0:1: --.035 to .045
These are only their recommendations.

I'm using the MSD 6...I'll go between .05-.06. Thanks for the help guys.
