Model/Year info for replacement BDR brake parts?

I'm heading out to the local BMW parts counter today to get a spring kit and spreader for my parking brake (drum). I know this is from a E36 but, do I need to know what model/year my rear is from, or is just "E36" enought info?
Thanks,
John

I've had no problems getting parts from BMW or local parts stores, I tell them E-36, mid 90s 325 sedan. I've bought gaskets and speedo wiring jack for differential and front wheel bearings. One time I did have to explain the whole deal to the counter guy at BMW, but fortunately he had time to listen. We brought up the BDR website & that helped him to understand better.

If you have to choose a model in the E36 family, stick with the 325i series.

Speedy and Jay,
Thanks for the advice. I should have my new spring kit and actuator by Monday. The parking brake can come in handy at times..
