Fuel Injection in a BDR

Is it possible? has anyone done it yet? I know the wiring in the car is not set up for this, hence the question. How hard would it be to setup?

I have at least 5 customers using a Mass flo efi. They all seem to like it very much. To me it is the only way to go, but that is me. Check them out and you will see how well it works.

True007,
I saw a BDR last year that had the Mass - Flo System installed on a Stock 351....Looked great....Had to look really close because it did't look much different than a "carb". I have a 392 w/ Holley 750....No problems , but I priced the Mass-Flo @$3,000.00 , worth every penney. I am going to sell my BDR this fall and purchase a new one w/408 w/Mass-Flo!

We may have one of those

Kevin,
On your next swing through the area stop in and see our latest 408W with the Mass Flo EFI ... it looks like we will have it for a week or so more. Lot's of interest from CR IV.

The jury is still out in our opinion. A lot of work and you give up HP. But there are other benefits.

Jay
May have a chance to stop on Wed. (late morning) I have to get a 2 way radio instaled in the truck two doors down from you.
Thanks
Kevin

Cashburn,
What is the HP & Torque rating of 408 w/ Mass-flo?

Need to dyno, this one feels really strong but with a carb. we usually see 490 - 510HP on the DCE dyno (actual waterpump, fuel pump, accessories, and through 2 mufflers on each side).

Blittleton 06-27-2006 08:00 PM

Snakester,
check out Bob's BDR in my gallery, prism red with silver stripes has a 408 with mass-flo. With carb on dyno 546hp, didn't get to chassis dyno. He did real well at Mid-Ohio. You just may see his car in the near future in one of the best Kit Car Magazines out there....

Cashburn 06-27-2006 09:42 PM

Dont' expect big numbers with the Mass-Flo... it eats some power off the carb numbers. Easily 30HP. We are still undecided on it, sure it starts with a tap of the starter button... but the bottomline cost?

I'm not sold... yet ;)

Blittleton 06-28-2006 04:02 AM

Jay,
Have you tried the new chip yet? It seems to improve over all performance. I will agree with you on the loss of power with the older system, I can see a big improvement with the newer upgrade.

I'm sold on the reliability, and customer service that Chris provides. If I lose some hp, oh well. At least I a great setup with reliability, performance, and knowing that if a problem arises I will have support.

I have had a Mass Flo system on my BDR since day one. True I don't agree wiht there advertisement that states it doesn't need to be tuned. The car was way to rich. I have access to a Dyno Dynamics Chassis dyno. Before tuning the car made 298 RWHP after tuning made 348 RWHP (302SB stroked to 347). Car starts easy every time!

I'm wondering if the new tanks on the BDR come with a return fuel line which is require for most Fuel injection or do you have to modify tank.

later dennis

Blittleton 10-06-2006 02:27 PM

No, the new tanks have return hook ups.

I have a mass-flo with 408 Stroker. It's taken a while to get it tuned right, I think they have it licked though. I'll post dyno numbers when I get them, we are expecting @ 430-450 at the rear wheels. Starts EVERY time, perfect.
