Looking for Phoenix Area Backdraft Owner ...
Any BDR owners in the Phoenix area? Have a customer that would like to check out your car if you do not mind. Help a future Backdraft owner out if you can...

I thought there were several Backdraft owners in the Phoenix area. I am not sure what has happened to them? You might check the old archives of this site and track them down. It also might be so bloody hot there, that taking a Backdraft out is the furthest thing from their minds!
The next closest city is Tucson and I also thought there was at least one owner there as well? If all else fails, contact Secret Squirrel in Imperial California. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive west of Phoenix. Or go a little further and come to San Diego where there are a bunch of owners who would be happy to show you their car. Skip |
I know they are out there, just not having any luck digging them up. May have to contact Reg via the new owners' registry.

I just joined Club Cobra yesterday! I own Backdraft Cobra #101 with Ford Racing motor 392 ci, 420 hp. A Phoenix trash truck backed over the front end in mid May, but from the hood back the car is is immaculate shape with only 1900 mliles. A new front end has been fabbed in S. Africa and Reg Dodd will be shipping it to me as soon as it clears customs. I should have the vehicle for another 3 +/- weeks before I send it to the shop for repairs and repaint! Your customer is welcome to check it out. I live in Chandler. Phil |

I would sue the City of Phoenix for deep psychological damage as well as for repairs to the car. Tell them you use the Backdraft to relieve tension and without it you are a basket case. I'm thinking $1.5 million would cover the mental and physical damage. Sound about right? Skip B |

Dealing with the isurance compay has been horrendous! I have reached an agreement on the restoration costs (No frame, suspension or engine damage--just fiberglass, cooling assemblies, quick jacks, etc.!) Essentially, I have convnced them that I will spend their money wisely in my full resporation program and I am managing the project with their funds (paid upfront). The 1.5 MM$ will be a good starting point when I make my medical/mental claims. |
