TEMP gauge
Hey guys,
Ran my car today and no temp gauge. The electric fans still come on but the gauge reads 0. Where is the sending unit for the gauge? Thanks guys later dennis |

Hey Dennis,the temperature sender is located on the top of the intake manifold .(towards the front by the radiator return hose)

Which type do you have? Autometer or VDO gauges? They should be in the same place as mentioned by RMHINC. check your connection, they will get corroded every now and then will the vdo gauges. I have seen the Autometer with the mechanic gauges need some playing with to get to work properly.

A quick way to check your sensor is to heat some water in a mug and put your sensor in it. The guage should note the water temp. I have a Autometer mech unit and they register the moment the sensor hits the water. John PS. Todays weather (Columbus) 62 and SUNNY!!! A great day to crank er up!! |
