HARD TOP RETRO FIT need some info

I have a new BDR with a soft top. After driving the car for approx 2200 miles, I'm thinking of getting a hard top.

I'm not sure what this would entail, if it would be feasable or even work with the buttons already secured for the soft top. Would the paint match etc.

Also if any one has a hard top, how do you like it, store it etc.

Thanks for any info.

Gary,

Call Jay or Brian at Vintage.

Gary,
Give Reg a shout, the factory offers a hard top made specifically for the car. Different cars have different contours, and the chances of finding a universal top is very slim.

Gary,

Reg also certainly knows his stuff, but Vintage's proximity is what I was thinking about for you so that you can get a "good fit" with a minimum of fuss - maybe even before Spring arrives. Nothing like another set of M1-A1 eyeballs right there helping you with the install.

I'm "considering" one also, so I'll be looking to see how well it goes for you. I love "going topless", but I also like to drive when the weather isn't the best. Someone else here said it best - soft tops are theoretical at best when it comes to not leaking.

Please keep us posted.

Good luck!

Cheers!
Dave

I agree, but it does extend the season in the colder months

I sent Gary a note on this. But once car #500 hits the USA we should have some better details and photos of a "new" hard top setup. At least based on what I have been told.

i wouldn't count on a hard top not leaking either.

Atleast the soft top fits in the trunk ;) We should have some more details any day now on the "new" top. I guess if anywhere, we will see it on www.backdraftboys.com first.
