TSB: Windshield Wipers

Thought I would give this a shot to help you guys out with the communications. A TSB = Technical Service Bulletin in automaker speak. I'll use these to highlight things we find that are minor and can be taken care of easily to prevent potential problems. If it is well received and taken appropriately I'll continue it as they arise.

So here is the first one.

Windshield Wipers

I have heard of this before, where customers report one wiper arm "spinning" around and getting out of synch etc. This is actually the result of the locking tab not being locked which can allow the arm to lengthen and then get caught on the windshield frame. When it hangs up the drive can spin in relation to the arm and it reorients everything totally wrong... no fun.

Following photos should cover the check and fix.

This obviously applies to a lot of different manufacturers. Good thing to check... I even noticed it on a friend's street rod at a show not too long ago.
