I feel like a mosquito, now, with these other posts.
I just want to sell a car I love because I physically can't drive it anymore. Someone needs to, it's my dream car of 35 years. UT |

I bought a BDR from Greater Cincinnati Performance Cars last week. I've been around both Superformance and BDR cars. The high quality of BDR and the knowledgable help from the guys at GCPC won me over. The extra 2 inches really helps for comfort and the PRICE was very attractive. Go to Backdraftracing.com and click on Kentucky region to get in contact with GCPC.

pdanesh asked about three different manufacturers. Why would some one who does not own one of the three even reply to this thread, let alone quote erroneous information about the BMW suspension? Seems there are some people on this forum who never came across a thread they they did not reply to, even though they know nothing about the subject. It is kind of like when we were in school and you did not know the answer to an essay question, so you answered the question with something you did know about. Seems that theory is present on this forum. Please don't take these comments as a "flame" just some constructive criticism. Now to answer the question. I built a Factory Five #2941. Used a donor car 92 Mustang. Stock small block, T-5, 4 link rear. basic car but with Buick Grand National power brakes, flaming river rack and coil over rear springs. It was Mercedes midnight blue with Lexus yellow stripe. It was an eye pleaser. One night I went to a local car show and arrived just behind a Blue Cobra. I did not know the car or the driver. We were parked next to each other. Of course we got out and started to talk. He told me his car was a BDR. Then we walked around the car. It had , stainless steel 4 into one headers and sidepipes. (My FFR had a foux header settup). It had stainless steel panels in the engine compartment. I had dull aluminum in my FFR. It had stainless steel Quick Jacks, I had painted steel ones. It had doors that opened and closed smothly with one hand, and they lined up evenly, mine did not. It had and enclosed steering column (keeps heat out of interior) nine did not. It was much larger in the cockpit (2 inches made a big difference). It came with Hillibran style wheels, I had mustang wheels. It had and IRS I did not. It had Leather seats I did not. It had windshield wipers and a squirter. My FFR did have wipers but they did not work, most FFR's do not have wipers or at best one wiper. Here in FL we don't have inspections so wipers are not necessary. Oh yea it had turn signals that were self can celling. I had a toggle switch under my dash. So that night I made up my mind that I would sell my FFR and buy a BDR. I called Reg the next day and the rest is history. So my advice (from someone who has experience with two manufacturers) go with the BDR. |
