I own a rocket ship!!
Hello fellow Backdraft owners! I can finally count myself among this group, as BDR 499 was delivered to my home this afternoon. All I can say is: WOW!!!
This thing is a rocket ship! I have not had it over 3500rpm (and then very briefly) but still felt as if I were being launched to the moon! I put over 100 miles on it in just a few short hours this afternoon, basically just shaking it out. I now see what everyone speaks of when they talk about the looks and thumbs up you receive driving one of these cars. I have a pretty good looking bike that I built myself that has been all over the net and in shows, but it never received the attention this car did this afternoon. I had people hanging out of their windows on the freeway to take photos! Guys calling across three lanes of traffic at a light to ask what it was and how many horses it had. Even the folks at the local Ford dealership went crazy when I brought it in for the safety inspection. Many thanks go out to Jay and Brian at Vintage Motorsports for the high quality work they put into BDR 499. Of course Jay put up with the difficult task of dealing with a customer first in Iraq, then half way across the country. A customer who wanted things just a little out of the ordinary that had to be incorporated during the build in SA. I would recommend Jay and Vintage without reservation. He has been great to deal with! Thanks also go out to Eric at Performance Engineering who built that beautiful power plant…Webers and all! This is one sweet car and if it is half as much fun the next time I strap it on as it was today, I think I am in for some saddle sores!! Gun Doc |

I've been following your story for sometime. Glad you are home safe. That car was well worth the wait. Get use to the attention. I still get it everytime the car is on the road.
