Stentor: Thanks for the info. I've been waiting to find someone that has tried both the billboards AND the Avons and it sounds like you're the guy. I had a set of Billboards and ended up selling them. At the time I purchased my billboards, Roger had 2 different types of big lettered GoodYear tires available (which is why I asked ERA-FIA that question). -I'm not sure if that's still the case today.
At around 1400.00 bucks, those Avon's better be VERY good tires. However, I'm a white-lettered kind of guy, so I wonder what they would look like with "GoodYear" painted on the side of them?;)

Anybody try the 15" Hoosiers?

TerrysSPF 08-14-2007 08:13 AM

Cobrak: I haven't tried them on my car, but everyone I know that has the Yoko's are VERY happy with them - and they're dirt cheap. A lot of the guys I know that have them went to the Yoko's after already having the BFG's, the Dunlop's, or the GoodYear Eagle GT's (which have all come on SPF's in the past) and they all say the Yoko's are far superior to the other three brands.
-Low speed rating, and they aren't considered a track tire like the Avon's, but it's hard to argue with the price!

Thought i would chime in with a question as well.
I am looking for a 305/50/15 replacement tire and am having trouble finding a set that has good performance. I am running a BFG euro tire and it is getting to the point of needing replacement.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Mark: Good luck with THAT search. BFG quit making the 305's awhile back and I haven't been able to find anyone that sells a 305-15 in ANY brand.
-You may have to drop down to a 295 on the back.......especially if you want to match the BFG's that I assume you have on the front.

EDIT: BFG makes a "drag radial" that you could put on the back. If I remember right, it comes in a 275 or a 315 for the back.

I'm more than happy with my Indy 500's. Rated # 1 by http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp
I've had GY's, BFG's and for street driving these have been the best. They ride nicer, hook better. If your going to the track, buy race tires. But for the street why spend $1400+ when you can do it for $400????
