Chrome 17 inch knockoffs

Just got in my second set of chrome wheels from Vintage Wheels. He does a great job with these wheels. The process is very impressive. I have seen some other chrome wheels for our cars and these are definitely a nicer piece.

nice... from day one of ownership I've had the itch for the 17" upgrade. I currently have the 15" bolt-on wheels. Does fitment (offset) get tricky with the hub adapters? I like the look of the knock-offs, tho I like the practicality of the bolt-ons (don't have to worry about aligning/deforming the pins or the spinner loosening, etc.). I know a lot of it is mental. Other than getting the pins seated properly, the knock-offs are pretty much JUST as straightforward. I just don't want to have to deal with lock wires, & wondering if I got the spinner on tight enough.

any thoughts?

I've never dealt directly with cobra replica wheels but I'd imagine they're all alike. Every knockoff style wheel I've dealt with have been a total P.I.T.A!!! More times than not, you would cringe your teeth everytime you took a swing at teh knockoff to loosen the wheel. then the threads would get a littel rust in them from not being well taken care of and make it all the worse. I like the originality of the knockoff wheels. But IMHO, especially in a 17", you've thrown the originality out the window anywyas so you might as well go with simple!

The knock-offs are better all around from a construction standpoint. The manufacturer does a better job of ensuring they are round and free from vibration. They also seem to balance better too.

We've had 2 customers to date actually upgrade to the knock-off from a bolt-on even though it is a costly change to make.

Slick61,

I have done all the headace work for you. All you will need to get is the adapter set from me or Reg and the wheels will fit. You can either buy the 17inch knock off set up $2800.00 That includes tires. Or buy the adapter with the pins and then buy my chrome wheels. Give me a call for those prices.
