Starting Issue-need Your Opinon!!

So my #299 BDR has maybe 2K on it ashamed to say and I pulled up to a friends house and all of a sudden it wont start. So I thought it was simply the starter button so I unscrew the button and cross the wires but get nothing. Although you can see the volt meter move and actually feel power when you touch the two wires together. So I push started the car and when the car is running and I push the stater button and it engages the starter. I thinking it was a glitch. I go down town and I parked on a hill just in case. Sure enough it wont start -same thing. I push it down the hill start it up and go home. When I get it into the garage I stop the car and sure enough -it starts??? Currently it starts. My question to you guys is ,before I dig into this, where would you start? Although it starts now I certainly dont want it to stall when I'm by myself.

Check the starter solenoid on the starter, you can take the starter out and bring it to Auto palace or some other auto parts store to be tested.

If that only happens when hot it may just be a heat soak issue. Try some insulation.

Ground wire from the battery to the engine. Remove and clean wire.

Heat soak warping the sleeve in the solanoid...

Ask any Chevy owner with headers about this one.

I'm going with heat soak or oil/corrosion on the main power connector to the starter.
