brake part help

I'm having a problem with my e-brake coming apart in right side rear rotor. The backing plate won't keep hold of retainer and drum pads for e-brake come loose. I've bent slot for retainer three times but it continues to pull back out and releasing shoes. I need to know model and year of backing plate so I can get one from BMW. I've ordered wrong part once and would like to get it right next time. For now I was able to get a bolt and lock nut through hole and still able to keep spring tenison correct on retainer hole but would like to fix it right.

Vintage thought it maybe a 95 325i. Way too big.

Tony, Reg Some help here?

thanks

E-Brake? A bitter post from UT.

What E-Brake?

Build # 139.

August, 2004.

I'm trying to visualize the "backing plate" we are talking about. I believe if it is the backing plate I am now thinking of it as a part that is modified by BDR at the factory and now they are even cutting their own. You might get a quick response up the chain at the backdraftboys.com site.

Tom,

The bolt and lock nut is the way Backdraft does theirs now. They make a new plate of the dust shield. But I did find an place for you to get one of the original type of dust shield.

this will need to be slightly modified to fit and limit noise.
