Any Backdraft Dealers in SoCal?

I'm in Ventura but am also frequently in San Diego. I'm looking at getting either an ERA, SPF or Backdraft, and would like to see them in person & also get a feel for the support network for each.
Thanks
-Mark

I would be happy to show you my BDR if you are down in San Diego. I will not leave anything out. The good and the bad. Mine is an almost daily driver, owned since 2005.

Send me an email.

John

Speed you should come down to San Diego on the first Saturday of the month. A group of Cobra and Corvette guys get together for a run in the hills and there are a few different models of Cobra there. They meet at the starbucks on Fenton pkwy near Qualcomm stadium in the Costco/Ikea parking lot around 8:00 am.

That sounds like too much fun. I think I might have to go and say Hi. I'm gonna be down visiting family that weekend (I'm from north county / Carlsbad area). In my line o work I dont get many free weekends, so this is kinda cool.:)

Great. It's a great group of guys that like to drive thier cars. There are typically 5 or 6 cobras there. You will likely see Backdraft, Superformance, an ERA 289, and a couple others.

Gentlemen, I will see you on Saturday morning, 8am sharp. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I will be the young, well dressed, increadibly handsom guy with the camera.
:)

Ludicrous,

How will we pick you out from all the other Cobra drivers? You won't look a thing like the Corvette guys, but.........

Guys,

I might sell my Backdraft to the right person at the right price. I don't have to sell it, but might so I can have a companion (my wife) go with me sometimes. She is NOT a Cobra fan. Anyone interested in the San Diego area, contact me here. Or, call me at 858-254-7172

Well, aside from being devastatingly handsome in a roguish, Clark Gable/Tom Selleck sorta style, I also appear to have a golden glowing aura surrounding me at all times, though it is only visible to young, very attractive women, or so i've been told.
Seriously.

LudicrousSpeed 12-07-2008 01:39 PM

I'd like to say thanks to the two Cobra owners I met out there yesterday. Terry & Pam, thankyou for being so gracious & taking the time to show me around your beautiful Cobra, I'm just about sold on Backdraft. Man, that car is Sweet!
:D
And to the gentleman with the red Shell Valley Cobra, I didnt catch your name, but that was one beautiful build, and that polished engine nearly blinded me when you popped the hood.

Skip, sorry I missed you out there. I'd love to see your car, but I'm at least a year away from buying, just because I want to be able to save enough to throw down at least half of the purchase price(20-25K). Plus, I've still got alot to learn yet.
Must be patient...

Ludicrous,

Yeah, I am sorry I missed the Saturday run. I had too much to do around the house and had to pack for a night away. I assume you saw a few Backdrafts? There are a good number of them in San Diego.

You are probably doing the right thing. Check out all kinds of Cobras. There are some great ones out there. I still think the Backdraft offers the most car for the money. If I had unlimited funds, of course a Shelby would come first, followed by a Kirkham, ERA, Superformance then Backdraft.

My car still may be available next December. I am in no hurry to sell it. But, if the right deal comes along, then I will sell it.

Have fun looking.

Thanks Skip.

P.s. Post some picks! I wanna see it!

Ludicrous,

I will have to wait until after Christmas to post pictures. Our digital camera gave up the ghost recently and I am giving a new one to my wife for Christmas. In addition, our computer hard drive died and we lost about 1000 pictures (don't remind me about backing up data!) including some of the car.

But, if you will look at any all black Backdraft it looks just the same. I have the traditional 15" wheel package and removed the side pipe covers. That might be the only difference in appearance from others on the internet. I have done a bunch of upgrading most of which is not visible. But, if you get truly interested, I can give you details.

Cheers!

SkipB
