Power Steering for a Backdraft
Has anyone here installed a power steering (electric or belt) on their BDR?
If so, which Type and Brand? What were some of the issues encountered? What would you do differently if you had to do it again? I am considering this as I have read it makes tracking the car a bit easier to handle. Thoughts? |
Easier to install a hydro rack kit
Dinobyte I don't own a backdraft but have had a power assist rack installed in my ERA car. I am a GM tech by trade and have had to deal with problems from electric racks in the chevy cars. You also need a larger charging system for the motor on this system the main fuse is a 50 or 60 amp maxi fuse. The motor runs between 20-30 amps under no input movement. Talk to boys boys at Backdraft and Tony Martin for the best input for your car. Do I like power assist steering. YES. I have a basic gm pump with cooler and a SWEET rack in the car. Bumpster is the only thing that needed to be worked on. Rick L.

backdraft power steering
I have installed the the componets that BDR sells and it is great, easy to do. Mostly canton brackets and componets, rack is ? But it works great, and fit fine. Best up grade I've never did. and I did it all.
