Metal Morphus over on FFC does aluminum look-a-like painting. Incredible looking work. Alsa corp. have a wide range of chrome-in-a-can products.

Painting it would defeat the purpose, you are in fact putting these on to protect the paint, no?

patina ..... and they're probably easier to repaint than the body. Polished or semi polished stainless would work the best, or carbon fibre.

I think MM's aluminum paint is pretty tough. No it's not aluminum but it is some tough. The Alsa paint looks flash but I don't think it'd be nearly as durable as MM's.

MM did me a price to paint an entire body with his aluminum paint .. 25k. The same as a Kirkham shell - but without the fitment issues.

Default Spats

I will be working on post 600 spats very soon andnow that i have the technique down for molding this area they should happen fairly quickly.

Attachment is going to be by the very thin 3m double sided adhesive( not the cheesy foam thick stuff) which won't damage the paint but the spats are so form fitting you could attach with 1/8" aluminum rivets which i think would be a neat look. I am also going to have available some color choices in the carbon weave but right off the bat it will be black and black/blue carbon twill.

Any interest in a small "mud flap" for behind the front tire? Thinking of a single plane carbon piece that would protect the front of the sidepipe and the top of the fenders....these would be around $125 for the pair.

chris.
I'm very interested in spats for my Backdraft AA9BMAAHV71CN1073 please contact me. Bill Skeddle 585 377 6497 or e-mail me at wskeddle@rochester.rr.com . thank you

Hi all....can anyone tell me if there are any fender spats still available through backdraft?.. I know there was some carbon ones once...looked a bit short...but the link no longer works....
My ole number 6 is fresh and new after its meeting with the wall so I'd like to replace what I had. 3m.

Can anyone shed any light. Not sure my cars number....must check...but it's Regs ole race car...

Spookie, try calling Mike in the parts section at this #, 561-752-3693. He'll be able to tell you one way or another.

I'll post his response for anyone else interested.

Mike has informed me the company that was making the spats has gone out of business, however they are working with someone that will be supplying them with spats in the near future.

We'll see what comes...

I had mine installed yesterday, as a matter of fact, I used a professional 3M film installer, he placed them at the level of the door handle all the way down to the radious of the fender, hence protecting well from flying debris that could knick the fender. I will attach some pictures shortly. BY the way I also have a straig cut across, this was based on the installer's opinion that n arch could either peel off or create space for wax build-up. Love the way they look (can't barely see it)
These are my two cents on the matter.

Any progress on the spats for car numbers 600 and up? I tried the Finish Line ones but they are too narrow, seem more fit for a slab side cobra. I would prefer back vinyl or carbon fiber material. What do the new cars get?

I actually make them out of a pleather material that looks great. Jay from Vintage uses my spats on his cars and the customers love them. You can contact me at 847-946-0210 and I can sen you some pics. Scott
