Hood strut
My hood gas stut after a while would not hold my hood up , I like the single hood strut in the middle of the car because it's never in the way on working on the engine , so here was my answer to the problem. I made a coller with a set screw and on the set screw welded a t knob. When the hood is all the way up slide the coller up and set the set screw , the hood will stay in place even in a strong wind. The rod size is .3125 Make out of steel ED C;) |
Great idea. I'm always concerned about my hood at shows since I only have rod on the side. Can you take a wider shot that shows the entire mounting ?

You did good Thunder 1
Well that just solved my little hood problem.

I have had the same problem with my early Backdraft. As previously asked by FUNFER2, any chance of a shot showing the entire set-up? Looks like a great idea.

Good idea and simple to implement. More photos would be nice:D
