Hello! I'd like to introduce myself

After many, many years of gawking at shows and drooling over pictures online, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my superformance cobra from Dynamic Auto West in Redwood City.

Just got the pics from the factory of the completed chassis! Still have a few weeks till I get to see and drive it.

Really looking forward to meeting some local cobra people and learning a lot!

Congratulations and welcome!! Look forward to seeing you at one the upcoming breakfasts.

Is your car Titanium with White stripes? The fluorescent lights almost made it look like a light shade of blue. Oh yeah, what chassis number are the up to now?

So tell us something about yourself like what's your name, where are you located who are you getting your car through, how will it be powered?

Ooops... Realized I left out a lot of detail there!

Hi. My name is Brian and I bought a cobra.

The car is Viper Grey with Silver stripes. I ordered the Roush 427 SRX. Apparently it's one of their new engines with 475hp/500 lbs-ft. Got it from Dennis over at Dynamic Auto West on El Camino in Redwood City. It's chassis number 2995.

The chassis should arrive here around August 17th from the factory and the install is being done at Mustang Ranch.

I'm live in downtown Palo Alto, so if you're in the area, you'll see me quite a bit I'd imagine. Hope to meet you guys soon.

Hi brian. Welcome to the club. See you at the next meeting. ;-). I haven't heard of the SRX...sounds experimental. :-)

Brian,

Congratulations and Welcome to the club! Looks like a great car ... :) :)

Between the good folks at Dynamic and Mustang Ranch, you are in good hands. Look forward to meeting you at a future breakfast.

Welcome Brian,

Check out our Saturday morning breakfasts at the Rock House in Livermore (every Saturday), or on the Peninsula (every other Saturday - see postings on this site for location, as we change things up on regular basis, however typically we meet at either Baji's in Mt. View or up at Alice's).

Regards,
Randy...

RodKnock 07-23-2010 09:32 PM

Hey Brian, welcome! You live in the "hood", so I hope to see you driving around the University/Embarcadero/Stanford area.

PANAVIA 07-24-2010 12:01 AM

We look forward to seeing you !

It will be our first SRX install!

madmaxx 07-24-2010 06:53 AM

You have alot going for you. You bought one of the best replica's, You got the perfect color combination, You have one of the best installers. In the end the installer will influence your overall Cobra experience the most, so either you got lucky or make good decisions.

What is the difference in the Roush SRX from the "standard" SR?

s3lki3 07-24-2010 11:35 AM

Thanks for the warm welcome!

It's great to find a great local community

Brian,

Wecome to the fraternity. Your car is beautiful. I know you are excited and will be pleased with your wise choices.

Evidently the 427 SRX is so new Roush doesn't list it on their web site.
Are you sure about the "X" ? ... or maybe Roush is making one especially for SPF?

From the numbers you give it sounds like a 427 SR.

Take a peek at the website and see if one of those listed fit yours.

Jody -- the SRX is a new version of their create a crate engine series sort-o-speak.

It is a recent development, and was released in may of this year. -- the new Roush engines are being constantly updated as they learn things and as technology progresses. You would think that building a 351W based engine would be rather a static affair some 10 years after Ford last offered them in a truck - not so , new parts are out all the time !

If I had to guess, most nomenclature for the "X" at the end typically means "eXperimental"; so my quess: Superformance Roush eXperimental edition.

Could also mean "some rowdy sex" but what do I know. ;-)

Oh, welcome aboard!

Tony Ripepi 07-26-2010 11:39 AM
