Sorry but that was the only one of your car. That was a popular color as there are at least two other Boss 302's I saw in Grabber Blue with Black stripes but different numbers ( #1 and the actual TRANS-AM car during the afternoon line up.) |
I think the company name is "Head Shots". They were taking pictures of virtually ALL the cars,,, on the track at least. I stopped by to see if they had any of my car, they had like SIXTY photos!!! Most folks, in fact, had at least 30-40 pics. I ran all three days so they had more of myself. They even had pics of when I broke down and was working on the car (the shoe lace thing). Awesome shots!!! They offered all kinds of "package deals" for the pics, I opted to buy all of them, on CD, for a 100 bucks. I could have waited till late Sunday for them but pulled out about 2:30 pm so they will be mailing the CD to me.
I can't find a link to them and am not sure of the name. When I get the CD I can provide more details of how to contact them. I was rather surprised, by the way, that of the great number of cars in attendance only a small percentage actually ran the track. |
Excaliber,
Photo guy is "Head On Photos". We too ran all 3 days and got their $100 CD. However, they tend to get the car very close up. Excellent pictures, but I'm looking for pics with more background or other cars in the picture. 289 FIA Cobra, Yes the #22 Grabber Blue Boss Mustang is a nice car. It was running in the Shelby Race group. There is an interesting side story here: Before the second session Saturday morning a funny thing happened. We were running in the Blue group which followed the Shelby race group. Brian the co-owner of our car went to the hot pit lane to get ready for the Blue session when the Shelby Race group was on track. The grid steward must have thought he was the other Grabber Blue car (#22) and sent him out on track. Brian ran 3 laps with the Shelby Race group. I was up in the grandstands and saw him out there and thought it was funny. He actually was passing some of the guys. When the Shelby group got the checkered flag I went down to the track exit and told Brian he was out on track with the Shelby group and now go back out with the Blue group. That was a fun story to share over drinks Saturday night. Regards, FIA Mike |
Oh yeah, Head On Photos, sheesshh, no wonder I couldn't find a link. :) They got some great shots of my car, I can't wait to get the CD!

The GT350 R will be saved , it is going to be restored to its 2-14-65 glory. The car is in actually in pretty good shape ( I have helped load it a couple of times once at quail, once at SP) the floors are solid and it has never been wrecked.
I have heard the tale of how it came to the current owners hands, and it is a good one. -- the current owner, is a really good guy. I look forward to its rehabilitation. Steve |

Like I said, the restoration has been promised for something like 5-6 years (since I started going there). He may be pulling the trigger, but I wouldn't go by the placard that was with the car. My guess is that Bill and Dave Murray would do the work (they are the others at the museum). I would like to see it as it was!!! So I hope they do it for real. |
That is a picture of the car I'd like to build some day.

That is the original owner of the 289 street car. He is from the bay area and is a very nice guy. VERY cool he still owns the car after all these years. FIA Mike |
