Insure?

Folks

I was paying SPF Cobra about $302 a year with Farmer / Full coverage / 1000 Miles a year / Face Value $60K with $500.00 deductible, now they want $584 a year.

So the increase almost ~%90. WTF I was really piss.

My record is good, no ticket / accident last 20 years.

I have other 4 cars cover under Gieco for myself & 20 year old daughter, only pay ~$900 a year

Any advice for better rate out there??

Thanks
Tan

Aren't those premiums for 6 months rather than annual?

And $900 a year for four cars and one of the drivers is a twenty year old girl is unheard of in California. Her car alone should be $900 a year.

That is annual for cobra

Yes 4 car insure by Geico ( Benz / BMW / Porsche / Civic) less than $900 a years
100/300, limited mileage per car like 5000 miles a year

I called Geico, but they don't insure cobra

We use AAA , but the rates are higher.

- anyone have experience at hagerty or grundy >?

Just moved to American Modern via AAA agent. They were nearly half of what I was paying for AAA insurance, even with all my multi-policy and car discounts.

I got a quote from them (American Modern Insurance Group), cost about:
Total Annual Premium for Quote: $417
Auto Garaged State: CA

Look like this is the best rate so far, I am not sure about their service.

GEICO, my long-standing insurer for all my other cars, couldn't even understand the Cobra, freaked out at the SPCNS VIN number, etc. We turned to State Farm, who does our homeowners insurance and they were great. I would have to look up the actual rate, but it was reasonable.

CSAA is pretty high for my car but at least it's full coverage and unlimited mileage. My wife pays for it so it's of no concern at this time. :D

I called American Modern Insurance Group "Special Vehicle Collector Car Insurance" to finalize the quote I submit online, and got premium annual (12 months) for $224.
My coverage are:
Max payout value $55K
Full Coverage: 100/300 with $250 ded.
PDL:50K
1000 Miles / Year

All I have to proof is insure of my other 4 cars I have with GEICO
Pictures of : front / rear / sides of the cobra
A build sheet to show cost of the cobra that I wanted to insure for $55K
My CA DL for record check.

Seem like a good deal to me.

The cost seems extremely low Tan. I know that rates vary a lot, but $224 a year...wow!

Look them up online and see how they are rated for claims service by the Department of Insurance. You don't want to have to go to war over a claim for your Cobra.

tc_sj 04-20-2012 05:33 PM

A few folks in this forum insured their car with them, I hope you guys can provide some feed back

$224 seems way low. I had mine insured as a classic show car at a cost of $288 per year. For the most part it wasn't supposed to be driven. State Farm offers low mileage discounts. So I got a bunch of discounts from all my other cars ( of coarse not the Harley) so I changed the cobra to a regular car. It is now around $540 annually. I just went through and got insurance quotes a couple months back for my 8 or so policies from Farmers (way high), AAA (way high) and All State (about the same I pay now). All State didn't insure cobras but did it through Hagerty which was around $60 something per month. Way higher.

Scott - That's about what I pay for my car through Infinity. I have my other cars and house insured through Farmers. It's a little higher than others, but not a lot. I may call my Farmers agent to see how they compare to the Infinity policy.

only 1000 miles a year -- ugh i would die of withdrawals !
