Mashed Potato - Dead Deer

That big brown cloud continues to follow me.

I was curz'n down Foothil Road by Sunol up in the hills and a deer jumped out in front of me.

SMASH!!! dead "Potato" dead deer. The front end is all smashed up$$$$$$$. The deer landed about 20 feet up in a tree.

I need a couple of those big band-aids.

Any recommendations for fibreglass bodywork.

$hit!

Oh dear!
Seriously, that sucks. You fast were you going? Your lucky it didn't end up going through uour winshield.

SilverCobra 11-09-2001 08:15 AM

What kind of car do you have? If it is still in production, the company can just mold the front end piece as needed, cut off the damaged piece and mold in the new. It is a lot of work and requires a good fiberglass man. Alan Weaver at Unique showed me a car that had been repaired in that fashion and I could not tell any seams or body deflections. I would assume that this would be cheaper and more practical than a whole new complete body. If your car is out of procution, you may be SOL.:(

Larry,
I don't know what kind of car you have but we have in the past helped customers with similar problems by replacing the front clip of the car. We've even replace the front on a couple of our own cars:( If you know that the original builder is still in business that would be your best bet, but if you need some help or advice on the best way to go about replacing the clip, give me a call and I'll put you in touch with our fab shop.:)

Is the car driveable? Oh, yeah, And are you OK?

Mr. Potato Head 11-11-2001 07:01 PM

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies. The Cobra is still a drivable Factroy five. I think we're just going to get a new body (the Cobra, not me, however...)

Anyway the insurance company and I are having a little meeting next Thursday. They asked me to drive it through the Allstate drivethru for a quote....Yea like that'll work.

We'll see.

Larry,

The good hands people??? Hope so. What's important is that you're okay--we were marveling about the fact that you are still with us at the Athens breakfast yesterday morning. Bad luck in one way, to be sure, but damn good luck in another.

Take care amigo,

Tom T.

Glad to hear you are OK and the car is so-so...or was it the other way around?
See you Saturday for the newest chapter in the continuing saga of Mr Potato Head.

Monster 11-15-2001 07:51 PM

UUhhhhhhhhh!!!,

Larry,

That's a drivers license not a hunting license, and besides that , it's a lot easier on the equipment if you use a gun and not your car. Glad to here your ok ,I've been busy the last few weeks and unable to come to breakfast hope to see you this weekend.

see ya soon,

I can see Larry now, driving down the street, with the quick jacks turned upside down with....

... a buck mounted to the front pair...
... and a rifle mounted to the back pair...

Hey Larry, I hope you're healing...

Ahh, keep the shiny side up,
Randy R...

Mr. Potato Head 11-15-2001 10:47 PM

Hey Guys,

I'll drive to car to breakfast Sat.

I'll be setting up an "Abuse Window" inside Athen's.

Get there early, I'm sure there'll be a long line.

Why wait? Abuse now.

Larry,
By chance were you in Pennsylvania and Ohio last week?? We drove across parts of both of those states, and noticed many of your four legged friends (or their remains) littering the highways. We thought you may have just been by... So many were along the road that at one point there was a dump truck (half full) having another tossed aboard for the final ride. ... Final ride... MMMMhhhh maybe that's it.. They want a ride. They are not caught in the head lights, they are waiting for a ride. They are the "Car Guys" of the fur community. You know how car guys are, they will do anything for their ride.
You found the Cobra Lover willing to give up his life (or hers) for a ride (even if it was just a touch and go) in your fine machine. Do you wonder how long he waited?? Such dedication...
You will probably honor him by affixing a 10 point buck silhouette near the vent opening on the drivers side.....
I can't wait to see your trophy on Saturday morning....
Good hunting eeeerrrrrrr driving.
