Petaluma Cobra Driver Died Today
The accident happened this morning. Based on the news coverage earlier this evening, a friend mentioned the car looked to be silver in color. Possible fellow BACC member?

Sad news.
Mr. Hauth was not a member of BACC, unknown if members of North Bay Cobra Club knew him. In any case, tragic. Please drive safely. Man killed in crash near Petaluma identified at 60-year-old man | abc7news.com The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified the driver who was killed Thursday morning when his sports car flipped over near Petaluma as 60-year-old Thomas Jeffrey Hauth. Hauth, a Petaluma resident, was driving a two-seat, 1960s-style 2003 Cobra kit car on westbound D Street east of San Antonio Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Hauth lost control of the convertible when he sped up to pass another vehicle on the rural road around 10:50 a.m., CHP Officer Jon Sloat said. The sports car ran off the road and overturned before it stopped upside down and blocked the roadway, Sloat said. Hauth, the only occupant in the car, was wearing a lap belt and remained inside the car, Sloat said. He was pronounced dead at 11:13 a.m. and an autopsy was under way Friday morning to determine his cause of death, according to the coroner's office. |
My prayers go out to his family and friends. Surely this is an extremely difficult time for them. God bless you Thomas
