900hp+ engine...

Somebody told me that somebody here in the bay area has put a 900hp+ engine in their cobra. I'd love to find out exactly what that engine was...

Sheesh, if that is true that person is insane . Our FFR has over 500 at the crank and Mr. Potatohead has like 550 crank HP. Both these cars are wild, wicked fast. I can't imagine 900! You would need stock in BVD's cause you would be changing them often

There was a "car of the month" last fall that had a 900+ hp engine. Not sure who's it was or where they live though.

You can just buy a 600hp bracket racing engine from ford and stick a super-charger on it. Of course, the real question is, how long would it last...

Great Asp 03-28-2002 07:51 PM

1,000 - 1,200 HP

Go to the race track. Super Street Outlaw class guys running turbo's, or ProChargers, getting insane horsepower with an intercooler.

Last year at the World Ford Challenge, they had to drive the cars on the street in stop and go traffic to qualify for the class..lol..... These cars were fast, running 8 seconds (real 8 seconds, not Fast and Furious junk) at 170 mph, on 10.5" tires

You could easy street a 900 Hp Cobra with an intercooler, if you have the correct build to the engine.

I've seen some big cube engins in that HP range reviewed in some of the hot rodding type magazines. All ran on pump gas. The headlines were always something like "910hp on pump gas!!!". Never seen one at a car show though.

Saw the car in question late last year. SPF car with a cammer in it. Sounded pretty wicked to me and really got up and went, once the rpm got up a little. 64 Daytona
