It's Gone Again
Just shipped off my Blue Beast to Xk's in San Luis Obispo. They are going to re-engineer the rocker arm assembly, change push rods ( I bent three:3DSMILE: ) and get after some other small items.
They say the turn-around time should be short (I know, two weeks), and I'll be back on the road again:D . It seems that in consultation with Shelby Enterprises in S. Calif. that the origninal Shelby rocker arm assemblies were not getting enough oil to the rockers, and they are also going to change the push rod from cupped on one end to rounded on both ends:confused: . I'll talk to them in detail when I pick up the car to see what was wrong the first time and how the new fix will take care of the problem. So, waiting again to get the beast back on the road:o . |
Here's hoping this won't be habitual
Mark
Sorry to hear about the problems. I hope things get sorted out quickly. It must be frustrating!!! I finished the registration game today. I have plates and tags. The car is up on jack stands while I finish some body work details. Next week it goes to get it's first coat of primer, then back on the jacks for lots of block sanding time. I am now hoping for paint mid December. Chuck**) |
Thanks Chuck--
Things will settle down soon and I'll be just in the drivin' mode:D . I'm half way through the registration process--been to the DMV, got my special certificate and picked up my VIN # from the CHP last week. Only the BAR and then back to DMV. Would have had it done by now but the car left again:CRY: !! Oh well, these birthing pains will pass. Keep us up to date on your project--sounds like your very close:LOL: ...... |
Mark,
I had the same problem. If it's the same Shelby FE Roller Rocker set up, they discovered it on my engine from the get go. They advised me that they had to make some alterations for better oiling. Very quick fix! - Bill - **) |
