original owners
Wanted to find out if any original Cobra owners are out there? I know most of us are owners of replicas. I never got a chance to ride in an oriiginal 289 , 427SC or street car. The asked so much question of how do the replicas compare in ride, handling and power to a 2000 or 3000 series car of the 60's.

There are several people in the club that own the originals. I don't own one but have driven the 289s and a couple of the 428 originals. Never got a chance to drive a real 427 original. In my humble opinion, most of the good replicas are superior to the originals, but remember that there has been 40 years of advancement in technology. Also the originals weren't designed for comfort and looks as they were to race. Power now is way above a lot of them as the 289 racing Cobras with webbers were rated at 390 horse I think it was. Also the 6 original Daytone Coupes were just put onto 289 frames and ran the 289 engines. I am sure some of the guys that have the originals will be happy to tell you about them.
