The California DMV website had a running count somewhere on it, if I remember correctly.

Go to the CA DMV website. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/
Click on Vehicle Registration.
Then click on Smog.
Then click on Specially Constructed Vehicle Emission Control Program.
It's on that page.

That's actually 613. And I really don't think many that are on the sidelines, or will soon find out that they are, fully understand the impact that those 613 will have come January 3, 2005 (a Monday).
It's already bad enough that the 2004 sequence numbers were all gone before February ended. Do the math..... %/

DMV used some of the 500 numbers this year. It looks like they will be using them all next year.
