All of you hot rodders deserve tickets! I, on the other hand, have moved to a place without front plates and find this a relief... Aerodynamics? Sure...... the only place in the world without front plates is North America... it sure slows down the Excursion, right Randy? Go for the real reason - aesthetics and Arnold may let you have your way.... hahaha $23- a year for registration and no sales tax on privately sold vehicles..... Steve |

I did my duty but the Cities that use Stop Light Camaras to catch people running red lights will kill it, that is the only use of front plates that I know of.
PS I run two cars without front plates because of just what the petition says. JMHO Gary |

Motorcycles dont have front license plates, so the argument that front plates are needed for revenue-gathering at camera-controlled intersections kind of goes out the window......................
unless they plan on putting plates on the front of motorcycles. I also think that the reasons given in the letter against front license plates are not very effective. |

Front plates are really ugly.
I mounted the front plate on my Miata on hinges and it swings up into the mouth of the car at around 5 mph. On the Cobra....nothing! Jim |
I hate front license plates, but,...Becareful, those of you not running a front plate in California. The current DMV law requires a front plate and having none just invites an idle peace officer to pull you over. That's why long ago, I decided that because I have flashy fast cars, I have got to make sure there are no violations on the car itself. No lights or turn signal bulbs that are out or things falling off or missing, worn tires or expired registeration stickers. That way I am assured that they can't stop me for a small infraction. Of course, if I am doing 95mph in a 65mph freeway or I am doing donuts in the middle of the street, they have the right to stop me.

I'm not sure I agree about having "everything" 100% on my car. Last month, I got pulled over for rolling a stop (with a 70 year old couple in the crosswalk). The officer asked for my registration - which I didn't have. And wound up writting a fix it for that and giving me a warning and advisory for the stop sign. I truly beieve that if I had had my registration with me, he would have written the rolling stop! |
Pay the fine, it's tax deductable. Tell them to ki** your a** before you put on a front plate.
